This week, the Environmental Daily Advisor discussed secondary containment for SPCC, TSDF requirements for emergecny responders, and electronic self-disclosure under EPA's Audit Policy.
Here’s the Environmental Daily Advisor week in review.

Confused About Secondary Containment? You're not Alone-- We've talked with EHS folks at SPCC regulated facilities, and found that many are confused about SPCC secondary containment requirements. Here are BLR editors’ most frequently asked questions on secondary containment.

What you Need to Know about Secondary Containment -- We’ve been talking to a lot of environmental managers lately about the challenges of complying with SPCC. One thing (among many) that we keep hearing over and over about is secondary containment regs. Here are some more FAQs on the subject.

Do You Provide Sufficient Information for First Responders? -- Owners and operators of hazardous waste transfer, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs) with existing RCRA permits or interim permits should provide up-to-date written information about the facility and the hazardous waste located there to local authorities. This preparedness and prevention information (PPI) should be provided even if the existing permits do not specifically require it.

Additional Written PPI for Your TSDF Permit -- The U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB) has recommended that the EPA take measures to ensure that permitted hazardous waste TSDFs provide all the preparedness and prevention information (PPI) needed by emergency responders to actively control a fire or other dangerous release involving hazardous materials.

eDisclosure for Audits--EPA's eDisclosure would allows companies to use the internet to electronically self-disclose violations under the Agency' Audit Policy.
