The Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) in New Orleans is at the end of September, and I am preparing myself to tackle the overwhelming amount of information that the conference offers. WEFTEC is the largest conference of its kind in North America, with over 18,000 water industry professionals attending, and offers over 100 technical sessions and almost 1,000 exhibitors.
This year, WEFTEC is hosting the first-ever Stormwater Symposium and is dedicating 10,000 square feet of exhibit space to stormwater, green infrastructure, and wet weather. I will be attending presentations concerning emerging stormwater issues, stormwater controls, and what big cities are doing to improve infrastructure.
But stormwater is just one of the many topics at WEFTEC. There are sessions on municipal and industrial treatment technologies, biosolids, facility operations and maintenance, operator training—the list is lengthy. I can't cover all the technical sessions and presentations during my 3 days at the conference, so I need to narrow down what is most important for our readers.
So, readers: What water compliance topics would you like to know more about? Let us know! Contact Amanda Czepiel, J.D., at aczepiel@blr.com.
